| The heads of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD for Negros Occidental and Bacolod City have been named following the merger of the two pro-administration parties. Gov. Isidro Zayco heads the Lakas-Kampi-CMD in Negros Occidental. Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella was appointed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as City-District Chapter chairman of Lakas-Kampi-CMD party in the Lone Congressional District of Bacolod, a press release from his office said yesterday. As District Chapter Chairman, Puentevella is empowered to decide all party matters in the city and district, particularly selection of party candidates, consolidation of all Lakas and Kampi officers and members as well as implementation and enforcement of party rules and policies, the press release said. Meanwhile, Zayco said the chairmen for the Negros Occidental districts are: Rep. Alfredo Marañon III – second district, Rep. Jose Carlos Lacson – third district, and Rep. Ignacio Arroyo – fifth district. Zayco said he was not sure yet who the district chairmen of the first, fourth and sixth district are. However, the Lakas first district chairman before the merger was Calatrava Mayor Alfonso Baguio Jr., and Board Member Adolfo Mangao for the sixth district. BY CARLA GOMEZ |
