9:05 Am
There are six candidates for Congressman, four for Mayor, four for Vice Mayor and 55 for Councilor in Bacolod City.

For Congressman, the latest to file his certificate of candidacy as an independent candidate is former Bacolod City Lone District Rep. John Orola, Jr. and a certain Ramon Vicente dela Cruz Fernandez, an independent candidate.

The other candidates for Congressman are former LTO-NCR Director Ricardo "Cano" Tan, (Lakas Kampi CMD), Atty. Renecito Novero, (Independent), Dr. Anthony Rolando Golez, (Nationalist People’s Coalition, NPC) and Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, (Independent).

For Mayor are incumbent Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia, (NPC), Vladimir Gonzalez, (Partido Pag Bag-o), Andrea Si, (Independent) and incumbent Bacolod Cong. Monico O. Puentevella, (Lakas Kampi CMD).

For Vice Mayor are Ana Marie Palermo, (Independent), Johram Alama, (Independent), Wilson Gamboa, Jr., (Independent) and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, (NPC).

The latest to file their COCs for Councilor are Gregorio Jimena (Independent), Anthony Garcia (Ind), Marlon Sy, (Ind), Emmanuel Aguilar Jr. (Ind), Renato Bañas, (Ind), Alex Cantiller Paglomutan, (Ind), John Francis Tupas - Puersa Ng Masang Pilipino, Marvin Taqada , (Ind), Jenette Doecampo-Duro, (Ind), Pedro Diamante (Ind), Marcos Templado, Ang Kapatiran Party, Siegredo Magalona-AKP, Joel Bonifacio, AKP, Vicente Gico Jr., AKP and Rita Jimenez, AKP and Liberato Amante, (Ind).

Those who recently filed for Councilor were Vicky Chua, (Ind.), Ricardo Danoy, (Ind.), Philip Montelibano, (Partido Paglaum), Adolfo "Nene" Leonardia, (Ind.), Felbert Quismundo, (Ind.), Jesus Hinlo, Jr., (Partido Pag Bag-o), Robert Francis Coscolluela, (Ind.), Cesar Torrecarion, (Ind.), Maximino Cordero, (Ind.), Edwin Balajadia, (Ind.), Rodolfo Tinsay, (Ind.), Genly Carreon, (Ind.), Bernardo Nonato, Jr., (Ind.), Homer Bais, (NPC), Vicente Petierre, III, (NPC), Juan Miguel Estrella, (NPC), Em Ang, (Nationalista Party), Cesar Destrito, (NP), Carlos Jose Lopez, (NP), Marie Crystal Vega, (NP), Al Victor Espino, (NPC), Dindo Ramos, (NPC), Roberto Antonio Rojas, (NPC), Alex Paglumotan, (NPC), Napoleon Cordova, (NPC), Celia Flor, Bart Orola, Catalino Alisbo, Elmer Sy, Sonya Verdeflor, Bobby Lucasan, Norma Juarez, Buen Gallenero, Archie Baribar, Bong Dilag, Nannette Garcia, Elcid Familiaran and Totong Regalado.

Morever, Atty. Orola said he filed his COC so that the people of Bacolod will have choices insofar as the candidates for Congressman are concerned. He filed as an independent candidate because the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) where he belongs has already chosen Dr. Golez to be its official candidate for Congressman.

He ran because of the clamor of the people for change. He wants to continue the projects and programs that he started implementing when he was Congressman since 1998 to 2001. He plans to come up with an economic master plan for Bacolod City.

He wants a genuine economic prosperity for Bacolod City.* (CNCañet)

1 Atty. Vicky C. Fernandez, CPA   (06 Dec 09 5:42 PM)
Kindly correct your News Item above, specifically on the 7th paragraph....It should read-

"Those who recently filed for Councilor were Vicky Chua Fernandez (Ind.). . . ."

Not "Vicky Chua" only. My last name have been omitted inadvertently.

Other news reported my name as "Victoria Fernandez". This is also erroneous, as my name is "Vicky" and not Victoria.

Thank you for your attention.
